Ciseern

Do not use ciseern.com as your ID. You will live to regret! I used them once in October to November 2008. It was my first experience engaging an Interior Designer and I totally regret that I made the wrong choice to use them among a few that I shortlisted. I chose them because they have done renovation for some famous local mediacorp actress/actor. But alas the outcome is so terrible.

1. Terrible workmanship – they only provide 2 years warranty. 2 of my mechanism strips stopped functioning 25 months after renovation completed. The bottom edge of my wardrobe has started to give way around 2 years after completion, so there is a bigger and bigger gap on the floor. The joints on the study table to the wall and the ceiling that joint the full height wardrobe + top-hung cabinet have also started to crack.

2. Very poor way of handling project – my renovation was initially in-charge by a senior Interior Designer Executive, after I paid the initial 10% deposit, he passed on the project to a freshie who just joined the company, with little/no experience.

3. Uncreative & inattentive Ciseern Interior Designer (her name is Joey Yeong) – I still have record of our email communication. There is no computer 3D image given, all I get to see is hand sketch coloured drawing of how my new home will look like. As the coloured drawing is not so clear, only after they finished building, I saw my top hung cabinet did not have shelves below cabinet. I did specified clearly that I want it and even showed her a sample photo of other ID’s study table with shelves before she made the coloured sketch. I wanted her to improve on the design of the sample study table that I showed her but not only she did not improve it, she copied the exact same design and removed the shelves. I complained but they said can not change already. In the first place, it isn’t my fault to begain with, it is the ID who did not do her job properly.

Joanne is the ID of our new EC. She is very professional, responsible and patient. We like her design very much and the decoration work went very smoothly under her supervision. The quality of the carpentry is good. She also gave us lots of good suggestions on selection of curtains, furnitures and wall colour. We would like to recommend her to other people who want to have a special and beautiful design of their house.

My wife & I came across Ciseern when we came across them at Expo. We had couple of choices as well as competitive quotes from other ID too. But we took to Ciseern because their promise of professionalism n their promise.
In fact because our ID was a rookie, we were promised that there will be another more experienced ID to coach her hence we will be getting two ID for the price of one!
After promising the world, when the time came to deliver their work, all things came tumbling down. They were totally off their schedule thus eventually causing us to delay moving into my new house.
Even after I highlighted to their director of my concerns and disappointment, the director himself made some promises. GUESS what, even he failed to live to his promise.
They want the payment for their various stages of work promptly but they lax in their delivery and keeping to their promises.
My Reno work certainly cost more than $40K, it is BIG money for me but the promise I got in return was nothing but broken.
I am very disappointed with the their ‘senior’ ID, Mr. Averse and his boss!
Follow up service as well as assistance is even worst!! They don’t give a Damm but instead ask you to call customer care helpline without even showing care or concern.
