On behalf of a friend who wanted me to convey her frustrating experience with their so-called “interior designer” at Renozone
by name of Kimly and her boss Colin. For home owners who are looking for interior designers, be aware IDs out there that do not charge any design fees are “contractors and renovators”; they are not really interior designers and have no background of aesthetic designs. My pal said her frustration was realized when this Kimly who was invited to measure the unit because my pal thought after doing the measurements, the designer should do proper floor plans according tot he correct measurement. But my pal noticed Kimly does not give serious views of each rooms as to how to do them up in order to do proper floor plans as well. Shockingly on the day itself, Kimly shoved two sloppy floor plans which shows how inexperienced and unprofessional it is to present sloppy floor plans that have no accurate measurements and assessment of the rooms! My pal highlighted to Kimly and the boss Colin BUT both did not bother to respond back. Seems like the boss does not give a damn of any complaints of his designers from unhappy customers. Their attitude sucks! It does bring the question of “what if” any thing wrong done by Renozone designers to owners’ homes, are the boss and the designers care to get back to the owners after they complaint on their shoddy works? Thank goodness, my pal did not sign any contract with the company; only wasted her time for inviting the clueless Kimly over to the unit to do clueless measurements. AVOID this Renozone.

Despite a majority of good reviews on Renozone that we found on the Net, our experience with Renozone is a very disappointing one.
We got a resale flat and had engaged Renozone to be our ID company to re-do the entire house. Despite their slightly higher premium price, we entrust our renovation to them, thinking they will be responsible and do a good job.

The whole renovation process took more than 3 months.
Problems faced:

Poor Designs:
All we wanted is a simple house design that is practical that’s all – I’m a SAHM with 2 young children, and no maid. Turns out that most of the designs are not even practical, such as walking space at some areas are only 0.5m space. There were many errors in measurements and designs had to be changed last minute when actual work had begin. We even had to work with contractor at one point, to work out measurements because the designs don’t even fit.

Rude & irresponsible Staff:
The staff at Renozone were very rude. It started with the designer who’s rude to customers. When i declined certain features in the design, designer is not willing to listen to the opinion of the home owners. Designer is very pushy on things she thinks is good, without considering opinions of home owner.
Now that we have moved in 2 months, our toilet bowl started leaking. When we called the plumber who did the toilet bowl to come down to take a look, he was very rude. He not only shirk responsibility, he insulted us by saying he “has no idea how we use the toilet”. We asked him to check a water stain on the wall, he said, “How I know, maybe you all spoilt it.” I was really shocked.

Poor Workmanship:
After moving in, we found that the workmanship is really bad. Paint starts cracking within 2 months’ of move-in. We had to buy sealant, repaint walls ourselves as we don’t want to “trouble” Renozone further considering how rude their staff are. Toilet started leaking, with water gushing out during a flush, and contractor refused to do anything about it.

Overall, we are very disappointed with Renozone. Although the designs presented were pretty on paper, now after move-in, we find that we had to live in a “fragile house” as workmanship and techinical aspects were not done properly.
Maybe it’s just our bad luck, but I would not recommend Renozone to friends.
