Our Story
In 1976, two brothers, Johnny and Sam, set foot in Singapore as apprentices in the window furnishing business.
After 15 years of experience as employees, the two decided to set up their own shop and go independent. Starting with a small, 330 square feet shop lot at Tanjong Katong Complex in 1993, J & S Design – named after the founding brothers Johnny & Sam – was born. Today, what started as a two-person establishment grown into a renowned family business with 6 showrooms, a factory and 2 warehouses, and an experienced staff force of 45.

In-house Production
Delivering only the finest quality is of utmost importance to us. Our immaculate quality control comes from having our homegrown team retain full ownership over the entire production, sales and installation process, without any outsourcing or subcontracting to a third party at any stage. Our team consists of highly experienced staff, most of whom have started their career with us and stayed on ever since. We are also highly selective in choosing local interior designers to partner with.
State-of-art technology
At J & S Design, we strive to achieve the highest quality finishing in tandem with timely craftsmanship – thus we focus on investing to constantly upgrade to the most advanced machinery and production facilities ahead of the industry trend.
We were the first in Singapore, and still are one of the few window furnishers in South East Asia to own a high-tech Roman Blind sewing machine. Introduced to our workshop in 2009, we were able to sew fabric Roman Blind up to a width of 4.5 meters with speed and precision.
We have also procured a new state-of-the-art laser-cut machine equipped with X-Y cutting functions, which, compared to conventional cutting machines, enables more accurate finishing in a shorter amount of time.
Tabletops in our workshop are equipped with belt–conveyors, automating the traditionally manual process for sewing, creating a safe and conducive working environment for our employees and delivering workmanship of the highest quality.
