I would like to let you know that our experience with Northwest has fallen short in so many ways.

Works started on 13 Dec 2021 for tiles and painting, thereafter there was no work done for the next 7 weeks. We keep chasing Ryan Voon but he had so many excuses and never once provided a timeline of works or handover date. Called in to complain but only allowed to speak to fellow colleagues. Finally provided handover date for 9 Mar 2022 but when we went to the house on 9 Mar 2022, the house was far from done! Carpentry not up, electrical works not done, plumbing not done. And yet Ryan Voon has no courtesy to inform us at least one week prior of the expected completion. Thereafter we kept chasing and still no movement. Called again to complain but the staff said they cannot give manager Eddie’s number, or tell me what time is manager Eddie coming to work. More ridiculous is that they did not even want to tell me what is the manager’s name in the first place!!

This is really slipshod and we do not expect to pay for the house and not enjoy it especially with such ridiculous delays and lack of communication.

Bad comments after I have been moved in my house 1 year. The after sales service and renovation works done of this design company is really terrible. I am really disappointed. The problems have appeared one by one after stayed for 1 year. The problem of upper kitchen cabinet is appeared again. Actually the upper kitchen cabinet has been patched up previously but after not even few months the problem appeared again.

Other than that, the tile of bathroom was cracked and cabinet of bedroom also have the problem. Actually I have purchase 2 years insurance in case if have any problem for renovation works of my house, they can come to repair.

But the service of interior designer (ID) is really bad and disappointed. I have informed the ID about the problems of my house. Guess what he replied me. He replied that this problem is inevitably normal and keep on delay to arrange person come to check about. I need to keep on following up with them. Really disappointed on this design company and the service of the in charge ID.

Good service, reasonable price and good quality as well.

(When I wanted to do my house reno & searching for NW Int reviews, I couldn’t find any either. So here goes with the sharing of my ‘long overdue’ review and hope others will also start sharing)

Did my reno early this year. NW Int. quote was one of the lower ones and I decided to give the ID an opportunity eventhough he was relatively new. Also mainly because was recommended by a friend and the reno works were up to standard at my friend’s place. Btw, I requested my ID that I didnot want any so-called ‘free’ stuffs as in reality, those costs are factored in also. So probably that was why quote was lower too.

My reno works included the following (Ard $32K. Took approx. 7 weeks in total when estimation was 6 weeks. So still not too bad):

– Kitchen & 2 toilets (hacking + tiling + kitchen cabinet)

– Replastering of entire house walls + ceiling

– Electrical wiring (whole house)

– Plumbing

– Painting of whole house (Standard matt type paint)

– Whole house windows & bedrm doors replacement

– Additional wall hacking and floor leveling (this caused some delays due to getting approval from authority)

Cost excludes toilet and electrical fittings as I bought on my own.

From own experience, I would highly suggest to check the work done everyday so that any mismatch can be rectified quickly. Also, do some readup on your own on how certain reno works are done so you know if its standard regulation or not. This is really critical to avoid getting conned when ID say certain things are ‘standard’ or if something cannot be done. Ofcourse make sure every detail is captured in the final quote.

Would like to share my experience on home renovation specifically about the interior design company and interior designer engaged to renovate my 4-room HDB flat.

In one word, it was a dreadful experience altogether!

There are many many incidents that pushed me to write my experience in order to share them via this portal with to-be home owners looking for trustable designer and firm to renovate their homes. This designer practically took 4 months to complete the major works….7 months to tie up the loose ends. Is this acceptable? Well, in this industry, the consumers are always very much at the losing end. Even before I signed the contract with the firm, I tried to negotiate adding extra clauses that will safeguard my interests but the designer was reluctant.

The very basic that a designer should be cautious of is to protect the floor that has been lay. And again this designer did not! No protection and you expect the flooring be in good condition?! Is it so difficult to do that? Not only has he indirectly tarnished the company image (not that his company’s image is still that reputable) he has also caused the company financial losses (in the form of discount)! Of course, these impacts are none of my business.

To homeowners who are sourcing for ID, please do think twice about engaging this interior designer/firm for your renovation works…the story doesn’t end here…there are many more unacceptable and bad experiences that this designer has left upon me. In short, the service, quality and workmanship by this company, designer and the sub-contractors are way below standard, most importantly, this designer CMI!!!
